Some management lack employee development. Needs to allow A players to use their abilities to the fullest in order to gain maximum contribution and effort.

Pros

Yes the pay and benefits are good when there is work. Lots of work and overtime in summer but not much work in winter. Spareboard work for a lot of years and it can be early mornings or overnights and usually weekends so it can be a good job to work if you are a loner or if you want to avoid the wife.Drivers and also warehousemen are unionized but you can't work in the warehouse if there is no driving assignments.

Cons

Spareboard work for us drivers are insane crazy and you will go everywhere and at any time.Watch your service hours or you will get nailed. Not enough time to sleep between runs sometimes and hard if you got a family about when to see them. Slow from Oct to March-except Christmas- so you will have to find other work. In summer it is busy and much overtime but it is forced and is really hard on your body. All the senior drivers here are proof of this because they are all beat up from driving and working too damn hard for this company with busted shoulders or backs or knees or hips and they go off on surgeries for these. This is not a pin to pin job.You are a speedy delivery driver and a customer service rep for the company so you have to keep a smile on your face when delivering even if you are stressed and your body hurts from delivering heavy food fast. This job pays good but your body will pay for it as you get older working for this company because it is hard work and tight deliveries times and lots of freight to offload by hand on time and move heavy carts off on time and pressure to be fuel efficient and stress of driving because everyone wants to cut off on the road a tractor trailer advertising McDonalds and of course little sleep and watch your back because many of my martin brower co drivers here like ratting each other out.Yard lot is shared at the martin brower home base on annacis island so its a zoo because you are competing with all sorts of drivers for spots to park and move. Every accident is immediately considered your fault. Drivers and also warehousemen are unionized but you don't know us drivers are unionized because they rat each other out for little stuff and the senior drivers don't give a damn about us junior Spareboard drivers. There is no comradery with our driver group here it is every man for him self. The driver shop stewards build runs that are good for them and their buddies and screw the rest over. Now the management is thinking of putting video cameras on us when driving to catch us for anything wrong. This is an invasion of privacy but I guess it might good for those few cheaters that screw the dog to get more overtime. So good pay and benefits but all the rest sucks and you will get hurt. This place is full of instantly and distrust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros

Focused company on its core business and on its deliverables.

Cons

Flexibility in changes (innovation) is not a natural course. Risk aversion is high.
