Do more with less; Industry demands for cost savings are causing increasing stress in the day-to-day
Pros
1. The highly credentialed, highly motivated people that live to make this world better than they found it will be your co-workers. Read Atul Gawande's Check-List Manifesto 2. Staff skill development is encouraged by leadership. They promote from within. 3. Benefits are great, "the Cadillac" of healthcare coverage 4. Have mother's rooms at some locations equipped with a mini fridge for proper storage of breast milk.
Cons
1. HR is unresponsive to everyone. It's so bad that the department is a joke referenced in staff meetings. 2. If you do exceptionally well in a year you are never rewarded. Raises are capped at 2% if you are a star. However, you will have an increased workload & get recognized by the company with a printed certificate of excellence. Best option is to go for a promotion. 3. Work-life balance is going away. While they're offering alternative options like remote work from home, it's still rediculous to be expected to work 40hrs plus finish decks at home and check emails at odd hours b/c the work load per person is just sky rocketing. The management doesn't understand how to do more with less money unless they are cutting staff and asking new hires to do twice the job.
