Pros

Flexible work hours, no micro-management, can work from home as much as needed. Great benefits. Immediate group works well as a team. Hospital staff is generally pleasant to work with. Work feels meaningful because of its close connection to patient care.

Cons

No chance for growth. Everyone gets a flat 2% raise every year regardless of performance. Many meetings in which we are warned that Partners is "tightening its belt". Potential layoffs after Epic conversion. Corporate Values Statement doesn't match the reality of the culture. Teamwork between different corporate groups is not good; some groups are obstructive or unresponsive.

Pros

Rank and file staff care about patients and patient care. People care about the mission and that is what attracts them to Partners.

Cons

All Partners corporate employees heading for a giant cube farm. All levels of staff to be put in cubes - even director level! Decision was made to save money with no regard at all to staff or managers or how they do their work. This WILL result in experienced and marketable staff and managers leaving in droves. Those that are not experienced, marginal or poor performers will suck it up and stay. The result will be an organization of deadwood staff isolated from those they serve directly at the PHS sites.

Pros

The benefits.. Clearly the benefits. There were some fantastic people to work with on an individual basis as well.

Cons

Downsides... Well, they appear to put anyone in management positions, except for the folks that work their tails off. Don't get me wrong, there are some extremely competent people in leadership positions as well. I just feel that there's almost a 2:1 ratio of unqualified to qualified managers.
