Pros

Good place to start a career and understand how a large organization operates as well as gain industry specific knowledge.

Cons

Many people who have been there for a long time are unproductive or are very resistant to change. This results in poor processes and a poor quality of work. Some managers will try their best to help you because ultimately they realize the better you do the less work they have to do. Some managers will treat you like garbage and hope you leave after a year so they can continue the cycle and have job security for themselves. (I cannot express how detrimental this is to a business). However, your managers boss does not care either way and a manager at Partners Healthcare is nothing more than an administrative assistant for HR duties for their assigned workers, but that’s about the extent of their power. So, you will work hard you will learn and that is about it. You probably won’t get promoted, you probably won’t be making market rate salary but you’ll have great exposure and a great building. Get the name on your resume, get some experience and knowledge and then leave. P.S. If you go to HR, your manager will know about it even after they say they won’t tell your manager. So if you are going to do it, be prepared.

Pros

New building in Somerville is efficient and well designed.

Cons

They're moving in the wrong direction, so many good people are leaving because of restructuring and overworking small teams. Communication and silo's have gotten worse over the 10 years I had been there.
