Pros

- You learn about insurance strategies - You learn how to talk to people better

Cons

- Management doesn’t know a LICK about Wealth Management which is where the entire industry is headed - They don’t pay you a DIME - If you don’t perform you will rack up a DEBT for benefits which you will have to pay them back. Or deducted from your commissions. (ABSURD) - It’s never the managers fault. They blame no success on the individual. They’ll tell all the other managers and bosses “he’s not meant for sales”. Which to me shows their true laziness to growing new hires.

Pros

Employee Appreciation Day was nice. They brought in several food trucks and all the food was free.

Cons

Much of the technology is antiquated and management is adverse to change. I was part of the retirement services sell off to Empower and we were all lied to by the CEO and senior management. Roger Crandall is not a very effective leader and does not communicate clearly. Many of the employee meetings there are answers that he clearly was going to get, yet he was never prepared. Also, I would not consider the pension as a plus. You have to be employed at least 3 years there in order to get anything. There’s also a 3 year vesting schedule on the company match. I lost my pension and 20% of my company match due to the acquisition and the company would not round up my vesting. For my position and many others in retirement services were much lower than the industry average. The company uses pension as a way to adjust for salary.

Pros

Benefits good. many opportunities to grow your career. Pay, for my area, not close to market median, after too many years, still hover short of median. Even though the words say valued, the numbers do not support the words.

Cons

Continuously focusing on change, without understanding where the change is effective. So many competing initiatives.
