      Pros

      I love that it's and environment that prmotes continuos leARNING.

      Cons

      They don't offer short-term disability. So, for people with growing families or temporary ilness/injuries, it may mean not having an income while recouperating or tending to your newborn. I feel It's tragic they are not forward thinking in that respect.

      Great hospital to work for individuals in healthcare and scientific research. Beautiful state-of-the-art hospital.

      Pros

      Great atmosphere (being in Boston) Opportunities to advance Advantage for resume building Great salaries compared to other hospitals and healthcare facilities

      Cons

      Extremely big so it is nearly impossible to get the entire feel for the hospital. It is best to research and find where specific patient care facilities are located ahead of time.

      * Excellent senior management at the corporate level, management varied dept. by dept * Good salary and benefits * Excellent opportunities to grow if you have a good manager/supervisor * Very good continuing education / training opportunities * Generally v. intelligent group of colleagues

      Cons

      * Quite a few MGH lifers who are riding out their days waiting for retirement * At Dept. level there is sometimes mediocre management that pays little attention to detail & allows some staff members to do whatever they want which means they are always off consulting to other organizations etc
