      Pros

      Everyone I've worked with has been ambitious, intelligent, and hardworking. Coworkers are friendly and eager to share information. Extremely flexible schedule -- can show up whenever I want, take time off whenever I want.

      Cons

      Pay is fair to poor; many people don't really care about the work they are doing in the lab and are on their way to greater things (advanced degrees, better jobs elsewhere).

      Pros

      outside prestige meeting some very interesting and smart people flexibility in hours since it is a not-for-profit possibility to relocate to other departments and find the best match

      Cons

      low salary relative to for-profit firms realizing that being smart is not enough for professional progress - lots of politics

      Pros

      Really socially-relevant work -- not just making irrelevant widgets or useless products. Excellent work/life balance. Physical and mental health of employees is highly rated here. Very diverse community.

      Cons

      As an academic institution, the dollar compensation is a bit on the low side. As a large hospital, there are hospital-wide guidelines that one must follow that don't always make sense for your job.
