Pros

They are the largest cabinet manufacturer in the US, paid holidays (if you don't take off time around them), basic benefits package, large company, many locations and position types.

Cons

Micro managing and outdated training is the mantra. The main office is in Jasper, IN which is in the middle of nowhere and has a small town mentality for such a large company and leader in an industry. The pickings are slim for who they can hire for executive and management positions there so be prepared to deal with some outdated people. A lot of people have been there for 15+ years and no one likes change. The systems in place for the office workers are outdated dinosaurs and slow. For a leader in cabinetry, I would think they could use the industry standard programs to run the business, but they don't. There is a HEAVY focus on HR trainings constantly which is basically watching outdated videos from the 90's about topics that rarely have anything to do with your job - they are to protect the company. There are frequent bureaucratic reviews that you have to do on yourself and with your manager and you are asked (very vaguely) about how you can improve your work with little idea as to what they want from you. Forget asking about flexibility and improvements they can make for employees or new ideas. Discrimination, cliques, and work place hostility is common unfortunately. I had one co worker tell me she was scared to wear a pair of pants she just bought because they "might" look like denim even though they weren't and she didn't want to get in trouble. You're not allowed to listen to music at your desk and are just expected to tow the line of what they want. There are endless meetings and calls that are a complete waste of time and are just there to make other people feel important. Expect to have someone looking over your shoulder, micro managing everything you do. Think of the movie Office Space and that's basically it.

Pros

Company has plants across the USA. Transfering to another plant is always an option. Masterbrand is good for entry level positions after college.

Cons

Management does not have the ability to lead the plants in the write direction. It's all about politics with Masterbrand. It's not about what you know and your knowledge base and skill-set but who you know, and who you've done favors for.
