Pros

decent work/life balance decent benefits great brand and business strategy

Cons

the matrix structure makes it very challenging to get anything worthwhile accomplished - constantly aligning vs moving things forward not enough internal, junior level people to drive productivity lots of legacy behaviors and opinions persist that are not productive to the current goals of the org challenging to move up, or change roles within or across departments, many people in roles for long periods. difficult to gain recognition innovation is a company priority but many are actually very change resistant

Pros

MasterCard definitely cares about its employees. During the pandemic it was clear the upper management was doing as much as they could to make things easier on the rank and file. Overall, pretty good benefits. Good timeoff policy. I genuinely love and recommend the company. But if you chose to work there, you will work a lot.

Cons

In a lot of ways, as mastercard got bigger, it has become impossible to get anything accomplished without massive red tape. You spend a lot of time banging your head against the wall. The people at mastercard are generally really good people. And I love the company. But there is too much work to do, and you go in every morning knowing that to get the littlest thing done will probably be excruciating.

Pros

Great benefits Great pay Flexible work environment Diversity in the work place

Cons

Leadership is broken into business verticals causing tension to achieve goals Leadership worried about keeping positions rather than focusing on staff Large part of position is dedicated to executive presentations Lack of emphasis on recruiting, and developing great talent Leadership lacks the ability to inspire staff Lack of connection to the organization to staff (Major decisions are made in secret and rolled out quickly causing disruptions)
