Pros
MasterCard has great benefits a pleasant work environment and nice canteen cafeteria facilities. If you are in one of the newer technology groups it’s probably a great experience.
Cons
Debit system needs to be modernized. Don’t go there… it’s a mainframe and they go to great lengths to unhighlight that. Too much offshore work and English as a second language with contractors adds a magnitude of difficulty. Offshore contractors are cagey and hard to get information from as it is obvious they want to control the lions share or all of development work. Management is trying to direct an Agile Developement methodology but it’s obvious they have little or no training in it… so it’s Scrummerfall for now. Beware of young wet behind the ears managers… they don’t have enough training and use negative techniques to squeeze more work out of you. Lower management will not listen to you if you are new and have lots of experience probably insecure. I was a victim of gas-lightning… constantly. Also was let go due to a reorganization Was funny that during a push to be more inclusive and “diverse” the company decided to let go a lot of folks that were white and over 40…. staggering and sad(one gentleman had 30 years with the company… and it was like: goodbye!)
