Great pay--not worth it

Pros

You'll get paid more here than anywhere else if you are new to teaching. Many subjects have curriculum provided.

Cons

There are high expectations for teachers and low expectations for student behavior, which makes doing your job almost impossible. For example, all teachers need to maintain 95% on task every class, but there are kids running through the halls, banging on doors and fighting.

Pros

The students are the only reason I come to work. They make it easier to get through the miserable days.

Cons

Management has unrealistic expectation No work/life balance Constant criticism, nothing you do will ever be good enough Low morale and high turnover
