Pros

MathWorks is sort of a unicorn of the tech industry. The focus is heavily on the engineering side of things and employees, especially the engineering ones are well taken care of! Being a private company allows them to make every effort to build a culture that employees love like their own family. And the products help create a sense of pride among all. One can learn a lot here and should definitely consider as a prospective place to work and grow. - Traditions like Friday cookies and Wednesday breakfast - Sprawling campus with ample space to take stress relieving walks and tune out for a bit - Smart talented co-workers - Quarterly bonuses are an icing on the cake!

Cons

Process heavy nature can some time stifle the application of new ideas. However, that said, management has made efforts to spice things up by way of hack days!

Pros

- Some of the smartest people I've met work here - Little perks such as yearly paid outing for family, paid trips every 5 years - Opportunities to work on products loved the world over

Cons

- Super-rigged review system (you better know how to suck up). The longer you stay, the faster you inch upward in terms of position and pay. And if you suck up well, you can get by doing little work too. - Low pay as compared to others in this space. - Artificially created atmosphere of austerity/simplicity. - No work from home option.

Pros

The people are great. The company core values are followed. The pay is a little below industry standards, but the people and the environment make up for that.

Cons

Limited upward mobility is the one that stands out most, but I believe that is generally the case in software, if you're not in a startup
