Pros

As the company was growing it was a great place to work. Now, it is a monopoly that operates like one in a vacuum. The benefits are great if you can tolerate the culture.

Cons

The owner is a total control freak that is awkward with people. He never talks to customers and rarely appreciates any feedback from employees. The business model is 10 years out-dated. Every decision has to be made by the owner or CFO without any outside advice. What company that is $800 million refuses to have an outside board? Ask yourself why you haven't heard of a 30 year old software company with 3500 people. Sales people are having their compensation cut and managers are expected to do what they're told. If something is challenged - you are a pariah. The culture is miserable, people could do much better. There are a handful of people that have made it financially, otherwise everybody else should expect to be underpaid.
