Everything revolves around cost.. even when it comes to safety. They throw away dollars to pinch pennies. In their eyes, the outside salesperson is the most important. Even the ones who don’t bring anything to the table. They neglect the ops team as a whole.

There was a overpayment on my paycheck which led to approximately $650 extra in taxes being withheld. Instead of correcting the error, they told me to keep the money and it would be taken out of my next paycheck. They didn’t correct the error and when I informed the payroll department of the mistake, I was told it was my fault for working so much overtime. Also, there had been a previous mistake with insurance withholdings and I didn’t catch it for a couple of weeks due to my excessive amounts of overtime. When I tried to get the error corrected I was told they couldn’t give a refund because they weren’t allowed to correct insurance errors. Matheson had purchased around 18 plants from Air Liquide which doubled the size of their air separation units but failed to adequately increase the size of their support staff. The poor souls who were victims of the sale went from an A+ company (Air Liquide) to a D- company (Matheson Tri-Gas).
