      Cash cow for parent company - TNSC

      Pros

      Relaxed work environment. Good opportunities coming in as an outsider. Good resources when it comes to providing the things needed to do your job.

      Cons

      Little to no internal advancement. Corporate culture promotes micromanaging from above. No investment in organic growth, but rather the company is treated as a cash cow by TNSC, who reserves all of the R&D and major new projects for themselves. Matheson only grows by purchasing other established companies.

      Pros

      Not much pro... but the pay was competitive.

      Cons

      Two bosses with paid bonuses for their completely unaligned goals. One required topline sales growth, the other required strict management of a percentage of cylinders rented to cylinders on site - called cylinder utilization. Neither would accept reasoning for why one of the two would ultimately fail - the aggressive sales growth required meant cylinder utilization would have to be lower than 80%. One of the managers knowingly accepted (and in not so many words required) that the utilization numbers be fabricated. That was an ethical problem for me.

      Pros

      Good Pto, and off on the weekends

      Cons

      No overtime !! Unless you are shuttle or otr drivers. Cameras in the truck watching your every move and can't even talk on the phone with hands free devices. This company stressed me out so bad they micro managed everything. Me and the manager got into it one day and they have footage of him getting in my face and even brushed up against me but they chose his side and tried to fire me but I ended up quitting on them. If you like to be micro managed and don't mind making 600 bucks a week with a cdl after taxes this is the job for you
