Pros

The pay is decent. Three days on four days off.

Cons

Incompetent management team. Bullying and intimidation from Site Managers. Lack of professionalism and inconsistent processes. Poor communication and each shift has different processes even though the work is the same. Negative work culture and the owners obviously don’t care about the employees at our site. No security onsite even though threats have been made to shoot up the building or specific employees. The location doesn’t provide an opportunity for a diverse staff which is why most of the employees here are minorities. Constant threat of being fired so most employees don’t care about doing a great job. Yes Georgia is a work at will state so please stop telling us that you can fire us for whatever reason. You are told that you will be fired or written up if you contact Human Resources. Favoritism and nepotism go hand in hand at our site. We are constantly advised about policy 114, however no one addresses the relatives in the workplace or conflicts of interest policies.

Pros

Pay is good though it doesn't compare to the pay for the same position at similar companies in the area.

Cons

*No communication at all---one plant will have an issue and instead of making the issue known to other plants, it's like they (management) try to keep everything a secret. Then they start a fuss when the same issue pops up at another plant *Micromanagement---Management tells you how to do your job, even though they have never performed the same job. They want things done their way, even though it may not be the best (or safest) way *Overtime---Don't even think about overtime. OT has become taboo recently. There are 168 hours in a week...plant has 4 operators; simple math shows that it is impossible to run a plant that is manned and operates 24/7 without any OT. Add in coverage when someone takes vacation or is sick (remember, there are only 4 operators) and OT becomes even more unavoidable. *No monetary path forward---There is no pay scale or progression...one person may get a decent bump in pay for learning or mastering a task, yet another person may only get 1/2 of what the first person got, for doing the same exact job. Speaking of pay...don't count on anything other than a COL increase (that doesn't even come close to the actual COL these days) *New Hire process---Want a job? Apply and wait. It takes several months to get someone hired. Interview with recruiter, then phone interview with management (upper management included), then FTF interview with plant manager (and operator and/or technicians). Then wait *Good ol' boys club--- Get in tight with managers and you'll get what you want. It's the "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" system. Some employees could get away with murder while others would be reprimanded for a lot less *Environmental care---State environmental management group would have a field day in the plants...chemicals being released onto the ground or poured into regular drains, large oil spills covered up with rocks and cement, etc
