It's a safety driven company, which is crucial since it can be a life or death situation, but there is a lot of turnover with drivers. Drivers impact sales and overall morale more than they think. They also pulled delivery trucks out of every store and assigned all of the deliveries to come out of their fill plants. Great in theory, but poor communication from driver and plant managers to the outside reps and their managers leads to constant blowback from customers who don't get their deliveries when promised.
Another con, which is relevant for Matheson AND their competitors is the business model as far as contracts go. If you do not read and take advantage of the fine print, you will be contractually married to them (or their competition).
