Pros

I worked here as a high school student and I can honestly say the job was the most flexible and least stressful I have ever had. I really enjoyed getting to know all of the kids and was genuinely sad to leave. Mathnasium is a great company and I would return in a heartbeat.

Cons

The pay was average, but not great. I was told that once I began tutoring full time I would receive a raise but never did.

Pros

Tutoring students in Math is very rewarding. You can definitely see improvement with an increased understanding. Students vary from 1st to 12th grade. Assignment of students usually based on similar math levels or behavior.

Cons

The training process is based off shadowing another tutor. You pretty much see how he or she handles his or her students. It's mostly time management. That's the extent of your interaction with the other tutors. The pay is also rather low. We tutor 2-4 kids per table per hour. We could definitely earn more. Some students have seriously poor behavior. Patience is definitely necessary.

Pros

The kids (most of them) and the coworkers.

Cons

Some of the kids are difficult. No matter how hard you try, you're probably not getting a raise...
