Pros

Cutting edge technology. Virtual reality is a hot space. Brilliant founders. Broad applications. Strong leadership. Super smart technologists. Dedicated and really nice group of employees. Passionate customers. Growing/ lots of opportunity. Great benefits. Bi-weekly gatherings to share news and updates, and celebrate wins. Chef and family style lunches create a very warm feeling at Matterport.

Cons

As with any fast growing startup, there is always more work than the number of employees.

Pros

Fantastic team that is changing the way space is viewed and consumed. Very smart founders and executive team that are doing the right things to profitably grow the company very fast. The technology is simply amazing plus it is very easy to use. While there are a lot of pieces to the Matterport puzzle, they have the right people all pulling in the same direction. Matterport has outgrown their HQ, so they have invested in new space for the team. Fully catered team lunches and of course a fully stocked kitchen. While the offices are full of smart successful people, new team members are warmly greeted and quickly become part of the Matterport team. Matterport takes their culture very seriously. Most of the interview process is focused on how the individual fits into the culture, instead of what they have done. This is because as a start up, no matter how well the game plan is laid out, it will change and as a small team each member has to be willing to jump on and do whatever it takes to help the company succeed.

Cons

Really, not much at all. But remember Matterport is a start up that has hit on a mass opportunity and is scaling quickly. There will be growing pains, especially on how the culture is maintained, but leadership is really focused on it, and really does care about every member of the team. Matterport is benefiting from the creative chaos, but it is still chaos so if you are not comfortable with rapid change that could be a concern.

Pros

The people at Matterport are very driven and the average quality of the employees is high. People are working on a bunch of cool projects and the core technology is awesome. It is great to see the 3D Showcases in the news.

Cons

Sometimes the environment is a bit intense. Growing quickly means that communication does not always work smoothly.
