Pros

Maxim is an interesting work environment. The people I worked with are the only reason I stayed so long. The hours are horrible (7-6:30) especially when looked at from the perspective of how much you are paid ($35,000 recruiter). Upper management is interesting to deal with and you might find yourself very frustrated in the process. Due to the size of each office, you will gain experience in a variety of areas. Be prepared to work hard, play a little, and then work some more. Long hours (included 24/hr on-call) are required. Plan on working your pants off for at least a year or more before even thinking about advancement. If you are good at what you do, there is possibility for SOME advancement with higher pay grades. Upper management makes reasonable money considering most have a B.A. max.

Cons

*Hours *Pay *Upper Management *Little room for advancement *Company culture is relaxed; however, the work is very stressful

Pros

- Entry-level development and advancement opportunity - Privately held adn financially stable - Long-term focused executive strategy - Fast-Paced working environment - Promote from with structure, and performance based advancement. - Has become and example for ethical business practice, and supported by management - Structured training and continued professional development

Cons

- Responsible for being a Manager and Sales (like running your own business) - Extensive cumbersome compliance policy/procedure - 50-60 hrs./week plus On-call as recruiter, and same hours as AM - Pay is not competitive with industry, and not with other sales careers. Bonus goals are high and can take years to reach. - Commission is based on NI which means you are more likey to go short staffed to hit goals - Benefits are basic, but not bad - Multiple divisions that can cannabalize business, and no compensation for cross-divisional assistance.
