Pros

Absolutely no pros about this place.

Cons

Companion manager is a joke. All she does is talk about her personal life and it’s super awkward. She pretends to be some fake gangster and how she’s so “hood.” Okay whatever you say lady. Only reason she still works there is because she has dirt on one of the higher ups that would completely destroy their life.

Pros

If you're fresh out of college and want to learn/gain some real world work experience, then this is a great place for you. However I would advise only staying 2-3 years, that will give you a enough time to learn a decent amount and then get out of there. Depending on what department you land in, you may get lucky and end up with a great manager/team. Having great co workers is pretty much the only pro about this place. And those co workers come few at a time .

Cons

Where to begin... -Maxim doesn't know ethics are. -They promote based off of who you know NOT how qualified you may be -They treat internal employees like they are disposable. -Upper management makes all the money, while the people below them do all the grunt work, and don't receive a quarter of what they're making -Management is super petty. -They say that that strive to promote from within, but thats a joke. It will take you FOREVER to move through the ranks -The pay SUCKS. If you get a dollar raise in two years consider yourself one of the lucky ones. They are no where near market value. you can go work at a company down the road and make 8-10k more..EASILY -Management loves to say how well the company is doing..yet our merit/ bonus payouts are terrible. -They are not up to date with new technology, so sometimes its really difficult to get your job done. -The IT department is horrible, I really don't know what we pay them for. -Low tuition reimbursement -The company wide 401k match wont exceed $750 in one year, which is terrible (if you didnt know) -The turnover is insane, it only takes people a couple of months to realize how screwed up this place is and then they are running for the hills Overall advice to prospective candidates: Please don't have high expectations for this company.

We are sorry to read this review. Maxim has promoted many employees, particularly those with management experience, and those that received extensive training from our learning and development team. Turnover significantly decreased the past few years. Recognizing Maxim employees is prevalent across the country, especially when we present awards to caregivers and office employees yearly. Good luck in your future endeavors. Regards - Steven

Wait till the fine is paid

Pros

Most of our team work hard to keep this ship afloat.

Cons

Maxim is a privately held company which is going through a serious transition. $72.7 million of the $130 million fine imposed in 2011 for Medicaid fraud is still owed to the Department of Justice (search in DOJ archives for Maxim Settlement Agreement). Twenty percent of the workforce was suddenly and randomly fired in November leaving the remaining staff to absorb the burden with no increase in pay or bonus. Incompetent managers in their twenties with no business degree or leadership experience rise in rank leaving their team members to shake their heads. They eliminated overtime for nurses, released Medicaid patients, have a $1500 deductible for medical coverage for internal staff which makes it worthless. Pay for both nurses and staff is substandard. Working 50-60 hour weeks is common. No position is secure. Stay clear of this company for a few years until they have proven they have paid their fine and reorganized again.

Good Morning. The new logo is more than a design, it communicates our personality, care and demonstrates what we do for our employees, clients and caregivers. The new logo represents our growth as a company and better care for all. We see you are a current employee - have you spoke with your office staff about your concerns? We recommend you do to make your experience better at Maxim. Thanks - Steven
