Pros

Management seems to take a vested interest in the growth of its employees. The work content may not be the most exciting, but it is definitely the people that make the company. Very little pretention exists and it is remarkably easy to maneuver the company network without feeling like you have to cater to inflated egos.

Cons

There is a stark contrast between operations and management. MAXIMUS seems to gain contracts by relying on unskilled labor to make its bids more competitive. This means that while consultants and managers make good salaries, operators and clerks, etc. make fairly abysmal salaries.

Pros

Maximus offers a very good work/life schedule. I rarely have to work for very long hours. I go to work everyday and can finish my job at work and not worry about it after work most of the time. They also offer competitive pay compared to other employers in the area for my position and offer decent medical/dental benefits.

Cons

Very hard to advance in the company even if you are doing a great job. It seems like there aren't many opportunities and when they do come around, the best candidate for the position is rarely picked. Depending on the job, you can be stuck in a cubicle all day looking at a computer.

Pros

Growth and career potential in a competitive market. Plenty of opportunities to work your way to the top and even transfer to other projects in other states. There's no "glass ceiling" of upper management. If you work hard and perform, you will succeed.

Cons

State projects are subject to non-renewal, so you move with the company out of State or you leave the company. Because the company is project- based, the company as a whole can seem really siloed.
