Job security Procedure and protocol for basically everything Almost always a raise each year Good experience with highly regarded institution

Cons

Want all employees to be the same person. Dress, talk, act, react how you are told. They do not like it when you question anyone of seniority. The physicians and upper-level staff are allowed to treat anyone however they want as these are the highly skilled individuals that keep Mayo where it is. I cried many, many times and I am not a crier.

Pros

Mayo is one of the best healthcare companies in the world. They are on the cutting edge. They pay their employees fairly and have excellent benefits (healthcare, vacation, pension). The motto is the needs of the patient come first and they live by this motto. I was proud to work at Mayo. They also helped me fund my MBA.

Cons

Mayo is a very bureaucratic organization. It is a committee run organization and slow to make decisions. They work as teams and this is mostly effective, but my team did not work well together. In my experience, management is too busy doing their job and not focused on helping the people they manage to grow and develop.
