Pros

Extremely intelligent co-workers. Work hard, play hard type feel. Ability to work on various different project types. Growth seems to be endless. Ability to dictate your career path. ESOP, Training programs, Health benefits, wellness program, etc.

Cons

The construction industry in general is filled with long hours. McCarthy is no different. Hours are long and vary project by project. Not really a Con, just something to be aware of when considering this industry.

Horrible company

Pros

Was great for the hrs that were provided and the benefits it came with.

Cons

Man oh man. How do I put this. This company doesn't care about you. Atleast in AZ. They hire GFs not because what they know but who they know. Half the time the formans are lazy and don't do anything. They show up late and leave early. Mccarthy policy is you can't work without a GF there. We'll we show up on a Monday and sit around for 2 hrs until one shows up only to get yelled at because we haven't started work. You can be one of their best workers but if one super doesn't like you then you won't get promoted. How they do that is they all sit in front of a computer and video chat. Names come across and they sit there and delegate what's going to happen to you. I got laid off Oct 2022 because I'm medically disabled and they didn't like what I was capable of doing even though I followed protocol with HR. They knew my wife is dying and needed the insurance but still let me go. My wife has since relapsed and now her life expendancy is shorter than it should of been. I was a great employee and an asset to the company. Never late, always volunteering for jobs or overtime. Gave my sweat and blood only to be looked down on by their judgment. This company hires drug addicts and keeps them employed because they're friends with the gfs and supers. Half the guys in Yuma will fail a urinalysis test. If they make you travel outside your place of residency they offer perdium. Yeah that's a joke. You don't get enough of that. They add $15 extra bucks an hr to your paycheck and you have to pay out of pocket for any expenses I.E. hotels, fuel and food. You won't see anything until the next paycheck and it's still not enough to cover your travels. Then If you're in the middle of the week working let's say in mesa then they need you over at flagstaff, they don't care about your hotel reservations and what not. They just let you go and tell you to show up. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
