Pros

- Good holidays (25 days) and benefits (pention, private medical insurance, life insurance) - Relatively relaxed environment - Diverse employee backgrounds and nationalities

Cons

- McCormich does not invest in its employees - No risk is taken at all in the company's employees, resulting in no succession planning whatsoever - Senior management is very isolated from the rest of the employees...employees should only do without having a say in any changes or giving any suggestions (even if they are practical advice that would facilitate work!) - People are working in sylos, with very bad communication and information sharing

Pros

Week off after Christmas. The older employees are wonderful but the newer people are cut throat and nasty.

Cons

Management has hidden agendas and change their minds often after making decisions. Career advancement determined primarily by politics. It is a "Yes Sir" company.

Pros

Good product lines that are still in a growth cycle in the food industry. Staff that remains from the pre-McCormick buyout. Free buffet style lunch for administrative and office staff. Time off for local holidays (Mardi Gras). Lots of choices with good quality of life in the area whether this is the better parts of New Orleans, the inner suburbs or the North Shore suburbs.

Cons

Transitioning to become fully absorbed by McCormick and Co. Company is starting to lose what makes it unique in the industry because of this. Only 20% of production conducted at the Grena location. 65% of rice mixes are now being produced in Maryland and frozen production continues to be co-packed in the upper Mid-West. Although the division is well under way to be fully absorbed, the benefits package does not match the ones given to McCormick & Co. So, there is a 401K but no McCormick pension plan benefits.
