Pros

Working here was a fantastic learning experience. The work life balance seemed better than other firms and there was a nice team vibe among the associates, certain groups of staff, etc. The firm was really into giving back to the community and took client service seriously.

Cons

There are a lot of great people at this firm but unfortunately, their greatness is diluted by a few crazies. Especially the managing partner in Baltimore. Whenever I had to travel to Baltimore for meetings, I would break out in hives the night before just dreading the scrutiny and DIVA attitude of the managing partner in the Baltimore office. In spite of so many personnel issues, reports of verbal abuse and the rampant turnover (literally a revolving door of associates and staff) in the Baltimore office, Management never took action and she continues to reign. Why???!!

Pros

Commute was good, good benefits

Cons

Terribly abusive partners/management. Cruel treatment toward staff and jr. attorneys. Seems to be tolerated. Nice values but they are not LIVED because of the firm allowing certain people to be abusive.

Pros

Commuting was relatively easy. That's about it.

Cons

The firm is heavily conservative and stuffy, and despite the forced bonhomie, everyone from the middle down seems constantly on edge. I've seen department heads belittle staff in front of their colleagues numerous times including at departmental meetings. Many of the junior lawyers and marketing folks seem utterly miserable. The health plan is the worst I've ever seen and other benefits are stingy for a law firm this size. Go elsewhere if you care about how you are treated.
