Pros

The company is truly committed to providing superior patient care and customer service. The management team did a great job finding people who shared in this vision, and the common goal helped bridge some gaps between both colleagues and entire departments.

Cons

Unfortunately corporate set fiscal goals were never met by the McKesson Specialty Health subsidiary during my period of employment. Already understaffed, management decided to lay off two-five individuals in each department; we were left to tackle to workload of the former employees without guidance or acknowledgement of the situation. In addition, my colleagues and I had to carry the responsibilities of those who had been let go in other departments. Training never exceeded one afternoon. The company culture can be compared easily to a stereotypical sorority house. Female employees far exceed the number of male employees, and the gossip, emotion, and outright disrespectful behavior dominated each day.

Pros

- Better-than-average benefits - 99% In-bound calls - Co-workers (peers) are pleasant - Closed on weekends and major holidays - Training programs are offered and encouraged - Good procedural documentation which is improving

Cons

- Typical call center - Unrealistic metrics expectations (that are not adequately re-normed) - Draconian policies that are not properly understood or outlined by anyone - Detached upper management with no focus on the human aspect - Constantly busy / Inadequate staffing - Inadequate reinforcement of their own contracts with clients - Many rude / incompetent / inconsiderate clients - Nosy management / Little privacy - Noisy management - Poor understanding of their own technology (outsourced I.T.) - Abysmal growth opportunities, little evidence of preference to hire from within

Toxic Work Environment

Business Outlook

Pros

As others have said a great company overall to work for. Flexible work schedule (depending on if your manager honors the flex your day policy). Great benefits and great executive leadership from afar. Great pay!

Cons

When you get hired your are in the newlywed phase. After a year the toxic leader that hired you or the one they hired after the previous one quit or was let go comes out. Most of this is do to the leader not knowing how to do your work or have valuable knowledge about the work. Most people stay with the organization hoping for leadership change neglecting their mental health to please a toxic leader.
