Pros
- Great people- the developers, BAs, test engineers, technical writers / e-content developers, and support staff are great. - Decent office facility; can be loud and distracting at times. - Good holiday season activities and charity drives. - Decent meals delivered during lunch for reasonable cost to the employee.
Cons
- Nothing "Advanced" about any of the technologies used. - Lots of silos. - When the company doesn't do well, the workers get laid off but nothing changes with the leadership or even more non-revenue generating people are hired. - Compensation is poor. Salaries are low-end of any survey scale. Promises to give raises when hired at a low salary for "outstanding performance" are met with "well, the company didn't do so well this past year..." regardless of performance review scores. - Limited upward growth. Good ole boy network exists for sure. No explanation how to grow into a new position other than "we should have some good contracts coming up". When I explained this as part of the reason I was leaving, I was told the same thing- "we have some great opportunities coming up" but no commitment that I would be any part of them.
