Great benefits, backbreaking labor

Pros

Benefits are amazing. Unlike anything I've had before or since. Medical is unmatched, as are additional lucrative bonuses of various kinds, though the vestment period is a bit long.

Cons

The labor is poorly managed, excruciating, and the line managers are from wholly different fields, fresh out of school, wildly inexperienced and completely unwilling to listen to staff. There is absolutely no possibility of upward mobility or the ability to transfer to another department. The position you interview for will likely not be the position offered.

Pros

There are no pros to working for this company. People may say pay and benefits, but in the end they will break you by working you hard and it is not worth it.

Cons

Management and HR at this company are incompetent and just plan idiots. If you plan on advancing or getting promoted with some form of training....forget it. Management never takes the time to make sure you get trained properly because they are more concerned about the bottom line than they are about the employee. Management is there to run you into the ground and dispose of you when you break. And as for managing, they just don't do it right. Management never knows what you are doing and never cares. Their communication skills with the employee is non-existent. They just don't care about the health and well-being of the employee. Bottom line - if your intention is to work for a family oriented company that respects you and works with you each and everyday...don't work here!!!!!

All it takes is one person to sink you

Pros

Great benefits. Great pay. Great co-workers.

Cons

Popularity contest environment. It only takes one person in management to not like you and it's all downhill after many years of great work reviews. All though they cannot use FMLA against you...trust and believe they'll search high and low and make up another reason to "get" you. Don't plan on ever being sick. Don't plan on being anything less than perfect in their eyes. Don't expect to move up or around. It's all decided for you...if ever. Be prepared to plan vacations and days off a year in advance with little to no flexibility.
