Pros

Benefits, Bonus, tuition reimbursement, work/life balance

Cons

The culture here is the worst I've ever seen. Time off is non-existent, terriblre micro-management, stepford wife culture. the only way you will move up the ranks in this pace is if you fit their "type" and if you are a empty-headed, stepford wife with no original ideas.

Pros

salary and benefits; great profit sharing bonus and educational benefits.good work/life balance. if you're in management, you have the opportunity to lead people from early in your tenure. you also meet some incredibly smart people while you're there.

Cons

company is divided into management and non-management or "employees" so it's a bit like the haves and the have nots. in general, management treats the employees as if they were numbers. for instance they don't usually sit together at lunch or even have relationships outside of the office. also, there is little control over you progress at the company. you move according to where the company best sees you contributing from role to role and for whatever amount of time. you may end up in a job you don't like. the culture is also very masculine.

Pros

Great work hours Great pay No other company in the world can touch the benefits Free college tuition Free college tuition for any of your children

Cons

If you are not used to a company that strives for perfection then McMaster-Carr is not for you. They are highly analytical and metric based. Everything is tracked. But then again why would you care? It make the company profitable and everyone (and I mean everyone) got 5 MONTHS salary as a bonus last year in addition to the 25% that you get for deferred profit sharing. Do the math.
