Pros

The opportunity to travel to far-away, and sometimes exotic places was certainly a benefit of working for certain departments. You can also expense nearly any sort of office or commute equipment you need- good CAD mouse, laptop backpack, and other items of that nature.

Cons

Extremely unrealistic deadlines. Misleading hiring practices Promotions and projects seemed to not be based on merit The pay is horrible, and the benefits (insurance, 401k) do not make up for it. You are worked to the bone when travelling. 12-14 hour days are common on-site, and these include Saturdays and Sundays sometimes. Gossip. Oh, dear, the gossip was bad. When you expense an item, they deduct it from your taxes. This makes it difficult to track your monthly income.

Pros

Working a client location is a huge benefit, it allows me and my team to be arms length to much of the "cons" of Mechdyne. working with some cool technology is great. I love that. Helping some really great people be successful makes me feel good. the monthly socials are great, there is a gold card program that really is nice for everyone. Make sure if you do the "rewards trip" to say the right things to the CEO...

Cons

the unknowns of working at mechdyne are hard... the core values while on the surface are awesome.... The leadership needs to not use that as a backdrop to hid behind. Turn over in Sales has been huge and the client that I work for feels that pain, the Exec team has been blown apart leaving the "yes sirs". Seeing the CEO and his puppets fly in the private plane and not really see the bigger picture is hard to watch. I wish that there was more ability to have real conversations as to why we are losing massive contracts, lots of 10+ year employees leaving and everything is "ok" . I worry about my job with this kind of stuff going on. All I hear is "it will be OK" . Maybe OK for you, but my family and kids need support from me.

There are some mischaracterizations in your post we would like to address: - The core leadership team at Mechdyne is very much intact and meets regularly to discuss and drive Mechdyne’s strategy forward. -Our TS team consists of a wonderful group of people who are driving the success of one of the company’s best performing business units. It would make no sense to eliminate this team. The company continues to invest in and has hired additional sales teammates in an effort to continue growth. Customer contracts come and go in all businesses. We wish our win rate was 100% but that is not a realistic goal. -As you know from your experience working at Mechdyne for 3-4 years, the company’s executives sit down with all business units every summer in strategic planning sessions in addition to hosting semi-annual all company meetings where all teammates have the opportunity to have conversations and ensure all voices are heard. The company’s leadership team prides itself in being very open and transparent.
