Pros

Outside of the Regional and C-suite leadership, MedVet is full of leaders who care not only about their patients but their caregivers.

Cons

MedVet has become a place where you are successful based on who you know and not what you know which is clear when looking at C-suite hiring practices. Aside from this, MedVet preaches a place that has leading specialty healthcare, but does not. Doctors must go through weeks and months of process to get life-saving medications “approved” for use if no other hospital has it, delaying treatments. With the new financial “investors”, MedVet has lost sight of what made it special and will be unlikely to keep up with their competition as the market changes and has a poor budgeting process to secure their future.

In striving to lead specialty healthcare, we are committed to fostering a supportive, collaborative environment built on Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion. With initiatives like complimentary subscriptions to mental wellbeing apps, our Employee Assistance Program, and open lines of communication, we hope to continue to support and promote healthy ways of dealing with stress so everyone can be the best version of themselves when they are doing what they love. Pros

There’s lots of different cases/situations that you’ll encounter that’ll help you learn and grow. It’s 50/50 on staff - some are good hard workers and others bring drama. You can bring your pets to work (off the treatment floor) and you get the occasional “pizza party” to make up for the bs.

Cons

There’s favoritism. Lots of high school drama. Management sucks. Little to no training when you first start.

We appreciate your feedback. MedVet is veterinarian owned and employee led organization that takes leadership very seriously, as it is one of our three core values. We aim to grow leaders that are approachable for any concern from any team member and that the team member feels secure in sharing their concerns with management and/or HR. MedVet is committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and compassionate environment for all caregivers. As part of the Employee Experience for 2024, we launched our Basic Skills Curriculum, which is a structured training involving classroom time and hands on training for a new caregiver’s first 4 weeks. Communication is a team effort between hospital leadership, support services, as well as the caregiver providing feedback on how their training is aligning with their expectations. We appreciate you sharing your voice so that we can continue to innovate and improve. We encourage any concerned team members to reach out to their local HR Partner, Clinical Manager or Hospital Director for further discussion.

Pros

Originally 3 years ago it felt as if patients were the priority with the old management team, but that changed. The other employees who cared

Cons

Over this past year the new management team doesn't care about the employees or the patients their number on priority is very clear money, they will take on too many cases with very limited staffing where animals are literally dying due to it just to make that extra money. I could not watch pets die when simply management is the reason they did because they prioritized greed. With old management at least they tried and cared.
