Pros

- smart engineers that you can learn a lot from - good work-life balance - Interesting problems to solve - cutting edge technologies - excellent views from the office

Cons

- Executive team has their own agenda. They don't care about you or your opinions. - Poor Engineering practices and lack of coordination. - Understaffed Engineering teams manages multiple codebases - Heavy tech debt that isn't addressed - Engineers are seen as execution monkeys. We are not involved in decision making and our concerns are disregarded. - The Executive team launches new projects without regard for resource availability, engineering inputs or ongoing priorities. Apathy is the best word I can use to describe their attitude. - Product Managers lack ownership. Ownerships. Many good ones quit as a result. - There is a team called Product Strategy that runs the show.

Thank you for leaving a review – this is a valuable point of feedback, although I think you missed an opportunity to see progress on some of the points that you identified above. The fact is that we have already started on some projects in 2017 that I think you would have really loved, had you stayed. For example, we’re treating “technical debt” for what it truly is and accepting that the performance enhancements, stability improvements, and code re-factors that engineering recommends are as important to our success as the many new product features we code each year. We totally get that our customers like speed and reliability as much as that new widget on the T1 homepage and so we’re prioritizing development with them in mind. We’re also beginning to empower our Guilds differently, giving them more support to accumulate ideas and develop best practices while providing greater value cross functionally. We’re seeing Tribes come together as a result and have enjoyed some of the best cross functional development efforts yet. I see this best illustrated in our Hackathon, which just occurred last week!  Engineers across the globe participated in this 24-hour event and had a blast proofing new ideas utilizing the latest tech. There were a record number of entries this session including a totally cool VR entry but I can’t tell you about any of them because I think we’re gonna patent a few first! MediaMath is cool again and I’ve gotta say that I’m having the time of my life. - Steve
