The level of micromanagement I experienced led me to lose confidence in my own professional abilities. Each day at work began to feel punitive rather than productive. It became evident that if one individual within the department formed a negative opinion, that sentiment would quickly permeate the entire team, creating a hostile and unsupportive work environment. Although I had received two offers at the time, I regret having chosen Medidata, as the experience had a profoundly detrimental impact on my career.

Incredibly toxic company. Your coworkers will compete with you and insult you behind your back. Management does not want to see you grow and wants to keep you in the same position, doing the same things forever. Management is non-technical and they don't know how to measure performance, so they look at how many lines of code you write per day and how many comments you make on pull requests. Several software architects and staff-level engineers have no idea what they're doing and get by solely based on charisma. High turnover for people in management positions because of overwork. There's no support team in place, so expect to have to write code and play tech support, many times in the same day.
