Pros

Team environment: Working at Meijer as a Service Team Leader gives you the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people. The team dynamic is generally supportive, and you’ll develop leadership skills by managing a group of employees across various shifts. Flexible schedule: Meijer offers some flexibility in hours, which is helpful if you have other responsibilities or commitments. Growth opportunities: There’s room for advancement if you're willing to work hard, with potential to move into higher management roles or transition into different departments. Employee discounts: As a Meijer employee, you receive discounts on store products, which can be useful for regular shopping.

Cons

High stress during peak hours: The role can be stressful, especially during busy hours or holidays. Managing customer service issues, while trying to maintain smooth operations, can feel overwhelming at times. Work-life balance: Depending on the store and management, the work-life balance can be challenging, especially if you end up covering additional shifts or working weekends. Long hours on your feet are common. Limited autonomy: Decision-making can feel restricted as many policies and procedures are dictated by corporate, leaving less room for flexibility in leadership decisions. Pay could be better: For the amount of responsibility and workload, the pay may feel a bit low, especially considering the pressures during peak hours.
