Pros

If you are lucky enough to have good store leadership, the environment can be ok at best.

Cons

Upper leadership is more about beat downs than coaching and development. Many have never run stores, but are hired and promoted based on being liked. Results can be meaningless and there is very little dignity and respect which is monitored by a culture survey. The results show that the company continues to fail badly in this area. Ever since the passing of Fred Meijer, the company has lost focus on people. Caring about employees and customers are gone. Very unfortunate.

Pros

Over 6 hours you get a lunch and two paid breaks. Managers notice your hard work. They treat you with respect. Managers are super friendly. You can pick up hours easily.

Cons

Union dues. Co workers can be very lazy. Sometimes Co worker treat it like high school instead of a job.

Your coworkers can make a bad employment experience better.

Low wages, middle management that care more about advancing than the people they 'manage', retail gone wrong ever since Fred Meijer passed.
