Pros

Flexible schedule in most Meijer pharmacies but the pharmacy managers are not trained as managers and as a result lack the basic skills to be managers

Cons

The company does not give raises to pharmacy technicians except for 1 per year which is essentially a cost of living increase.

Pros

I really liked this place when I first started. The pay was above average, hours were decent and they offered a pretty generous benefits package. Corporate and upper management seemed to genuinely care about their employees. Front end management seemed efficient and relatively organized. There were plenty of opportunities to advance or cross train in other departments. The other employees overall seemed motivated, friendly and happy to do their job. I thought this job was going to be exactly what I was looking for -- a job that pays my bills, offers decent benefits, without the stress and hassle that other jobs have brought in the past. But then somewhere along the line, that all changed...

Cons

- High Turnover; Lazy, Unhappy Employees. Lots Of Backstabbing and Throwing People Under The Bus. Hostile Work Environment. - Micromanagement; Tons Of Ridiculous Rules To Keep Employees In Line, Disorganized and Clueless Managers. Corporate and Upper Management Couldn't Care Less About Anything As Long As The Store Is Making Numbers. Every Day Employees Looked Down Upon And Treated Like Children. - No Incentives Offered For Perfect Attendance, Exceptional Service, Checkout/Ring Speed or Seniority; Creates a Boring, Non-Competitive Worplace and Unmotivated Employees. Consider yourself lucky to even get a thank you from one of your bosses or supervisors. - Little Opportunity To Advance Or Cross Train Unless You're Part Of The Management Clique Or Are Friends With Someone In Another Department.
