Pros

If you don't mind the cold not a bad job, if you are solely looking at the job. Union.

Cons

Willing to over work their employees and mandate six or seven days, even though we never catch all the way up. Can't keep/find new workers to help with the work load because they don't pay enough to the new hires. Treats long term employees like they're mooching off the company. I could go on but the biggest thing, is they changed my pay without written notice to a lower rate. Non strike union.

Pros

Strong upward mobility if you want it. Consistent work and as many hours as you can handle. Data driven decisions around product.

Cons

Starting to squeeze employees for profits which has led to being over worked, covering multiple positions, and extreme burn out.

Pros

Thankfully I have very good management but some areas aren't so lucky. Training is encouraged and so is keeping a good work/life balance. You get exposed to many areas of the business and the work never gets stale. Security is supported by the C-Suite.

Cons

Heavy turnover in other areas of IT makes getting things done challenging. Outsourcing has gone very poorly. The dev teams get all the attention and Security can sometimes be an afterthought when it comes to budgeting. Salaries don't keep up with other large companies who are allowing permanent remote work. Benefits are pretty weak. Health insurance is affordable but coverage is below average and deductibles are high. 401k match is 2.5%. No bonuses based on company performance even though revenues are up through covid. Ownership happiness clearly trumps employee happiness. The company seems to push "wokeness" over common sense.
