      Not a good place to drive for

      Pros

      Good pay good Benifits good equipment, for the most part.

      Cons

      They lie about being like a family. They work you to death. They lie about your job responsibilities when you first start. The union is terrible. If you actually get to drive off the yard instead of switching you get crappy work and have to pick from available equipment vs being in an assigned truck. There are a lot of poor attitudes amongst employees, there is a large lack of respect for equipment and items Meijer supplies to do your job. Their idea of a thank you for working hard and going the extra mile is a group acknowledgment saying thanks to everyone even if they had nothing to do with helping.

      Friendly staff. Management was great. Flexible hours. Plenty of breaks.

      The work life balance was okay, and you get time and a half for anything over 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week

      They often take one or more people from a department and tell them they need to help on lanes. Once, this caused me Pay was not good It took around 700 hours of work to get a $0.25 raise (at the most). I showed interest for about a year in becoming a Team Leader, I was told I could do it but they never moved further, even after my online training. Unreasonable expectations from management Only day the store is closed is Christmas Team Leaders were often very lazy and would (several times) leave early when the workers had to stay and continue straightening the aisles late into the night.
