Let's Not Kid Ourselves

Pros

I wasn't going to write a review but after getting notifications for several months of constant five star reviews I have changed my mind. Let's get some of the Pros out of the way. This company will hand you over keys to work you probably should have no involvement in, making you think they trust you, but then hops into the passenger seat . That said, it does make it hard to fail and gives you incredible experience making you highly marketable to other companies. So while you have those golden two-year handcuffs on you received from your sign-on bonus, enjoy the experience you'll gain. There are also wonderful people who work here and you will make some great connections. The cost of living in the area is also very reasonable in comparison to big cities.

Cons

Now to the not-so-good. Back to the 5 star reviews. Look at the latest reviews...I mean really? If you think executives can't sway the masses to "improve the recruiting effort" don't kid yourself. There's a reason they constantly have over 40 salary positions open and it isn't because they're growing rapidly (all the bragged-about growth is in China, not the U.S.). The management team here is stale and stuck in the 1980's Jack Welch era. Until there's a change in leadership the following will continue: Micromanagement, inequality for women (99% of upper management is guys), lagging the market heavily on pay, door logs being monitored (that's right, big brother is watching), minimal trust, sub-par benefits, and little to no career development. HR's involvement is welcoming you on your first day and saying good-bye on your last. They have no programs in place to develop employees, especially finance and I.T. Also, who has a Chief of Staff position? Come on. The only other organization that has that is the white house.

Pros

I'm able to be a stay at home mom and work around that schedule. Plus I'm able to live a healthier life.

Cons

Not much to say. The support team is always there.
