Great company, growing pains

Pros

Melaleuca is a great place to work for. I have great friends here and enjoy the work that I do. We are definitely going through growing pains and struggling through impacts of the pandemic and logistics, but it's a good place. The new CEO is awesome.

Cons

Pay is not very competitive given that other companies would allow me to work from home where here I am forced to come into work. We've also increased our pricing across our products to adjust for inflation, but when it comes to wage increases my salary increase didn't even come close. I am making less this year then I did last year due to inflation. It's also painfully obvious that IT and other individuals are compensated and given special benefits over everyone else. I'm dishing out like $150-200 a month on fuel to come into work, that's a car payment and/or food on the table that I'll never get back. Yet we give this benefit to others because of a role title or department their in. If your going to force me to come into work and allow others to stay home it would be considerate to provide vouchers or additional pay.

Pros

Micromanagement from the top down. There is little opportunity for advancement. Exceptionally high turnover. You’ll likely need to cc your superior on all email corespondents.

Cons

Pros

Melaleuca attracts some of the finest employees eastern Idaho has to offer. That means great coworkers. Benefits are okay but not great. Summer picnic is great if you have kids.

Cons

Management has a bit of a savior complex. They have a you are lucky to have a job mentality. The little guys never seem to get promotions when Vice Presidents seem to always get new titles added on. Problems seem to only be solved after there is a crisis. That applies to projects, quality, new products destined to fail, and also people leaving the company as well. I've known employees who have been promised promotions or transfers verbally to turn down other options and then never they never make good on them. Always have to get things down in writing. Management talks big about quality and pricing but honestly they seem out of touch with customers and products. Wish they had more women on in management from a pure business decision standpoint. Women are the primary customers.
