Frustrating work environment

Pros

- 80$ of free product each month - Health Insurance is great - Some departments seem to be great career starters (in theory)

Cons

- Being in a department that had to deal with virtually every department in the company in one-way or another, the training programs for new associates is essentially nonexistent. With the exception of the call centers which seem to be the only department that tries to train its associates their essential job functions. Fellow co-workers and I would be clueless of what our job entailed even after being there a year. There would always seem to be some process that we had never heard of and would have to go on a wild goose chase to figure out who knew how to do certain tasks. - Moving up the food chain requires extreme brown nosing in most departments. And if you do move up, the raises are little to non-existent. - There are no female VP’s or C-Level management as far as I know and there probably never will be which seems odd. - Most people I came in contact with expressed how much they disliked/hated working for Melaleuca. IT is especially very displeased with the work environment because of C-level management not wanting to leave the 80’s and provide funding for better technology. - From a technological standpoint the company is extremely stingy and hardly ever replaces old equipment that is long out of warranty and hardly functions. - Many employees you come in contact with will express that they are barely given the resources they need in order to complete their job functions effectively - There were many times were we were asked to help upper management with non work related activities such as church/scouting projects they were working on. And because they were upper management there was no say in the matter. - High levels of passive aggressiveness from upper management. - Lastly, Melaleuca spends a great deal trying look extremely appealing to the public and customers and does little to nothing for the employees to enjoy working there and want to stay. One of the main reason’s people stay here is because the amount of opportunities in SE Idaho are extremely lacking.

Pros

Free products every month. I did like the company picnic during the summer. Incentives to perform well (but it was a bait and switch) That's it!

Cons

Month end was a 14 hour day at your computer being pushed to take as many calls as possible. Calls were screened and nit picked by management. Received praise for being best at something and then told I was fired a few days later because I had logged into my computer late by 1 min. 3 times in the last year.
