A great employer for East Idaho

Pros

Decent pay for the area. Longevity bonuses and profit sharing are good. Very nice office facility. They care about their employee's well-being and encourage a healthy lifestyle. On-prem gym that's free if you commit to using it. Free, high-quality products every month.

Cons

401k match is pretty low (2.5% max) and the employer match is only done once per year at the end of the year. So you lose interest in compounding. It's pretty high stress - maintaining a healthy work/life balance is a struggle.

Pros

Melaleuca is a great place to work for. I have great friends here and enjoy the work that I do. We are definitely going through growing pains and struggling through impacts of the pandemic and logistics, but it's a good place. The new CEO is awesome.

Cons

Pay is not very competitive given that other companies would allow me to work from home where here I am forced to come into work. We've also increased our pricing across our products to adjust for inflation, but when it comes to wage increases my salary increase didn't even come close. I am making less this year then I did last year due to inflation. It's also painfully obvious that IT and other individuals are compensated and given special benefits over everyone else. I'm dishing out like $150-200 a month on fuel to come into work, that's a car payment and/or food on the table that I'll never get back. Yet we give this benefit to others because of a role title or department their in. If your going to force me to come into work and allow others to stay home it would be considerate to provide vouchers or additional pay.
