Run, don't walk, away from Melissa & Doug

Pros

Their offices are nice and they pay sales people pretty well.

Cons

Melissa and Doug Bernstein, the company owners, are the most selfish, awful people you could ever meet. They spy on their employees, allow minimal time for lunch and breaks and treat employees with zero respect. The whole family works there and they are the only ones treated fairly. There isn't enough money in the world to work there!

Good pay, no travel, no dress code

Cons

where do I begin? Sales people are timed daily to see how many minutes they are selling on the phone and phone calls are listened to so that they can confirm you are aggressively selling, which includes lying to customers. Shipping items to customers that they didn' t order, not taking no for an answer and pushing to the point of being rude - if you are OK with that - then M&D is for you.

Pros

The big money they throw at you is there way to keep you coming back each day, after the brutal work load you're required to fulfil each day! And with very little praise whatsoever...

Cons

How you are treated if you haven't been a veteran for at least 7-10 years there. It's very cliquey and there is a lot of backstabbing. Only 30 min for lunch. Not a good work atmosphere. It's a "what have you done for me lately" type environment!
