Good EAP. Rewarding working. Benefits. Good short term employment.

Cons

Appears to favor staff under the age of 40. Appears to push out those with seniority and to demote people. Restructuring may be a financial necessity but Melmark uses it as an excuse to push out seasoned staff! Fire's easily, and bad turn over rate. Maintains and works toward improving offices while programs serving clients are suffering.

Pros

Good support in classrooms as far as behavioral intervention goes. Very dedicated people who share the same interest in helping kids/young adults with special needs. 5 weeks paid Vacation, great benefits.

Cons

No freedom in the work place, easy to burn out because some programs are much too fast-paced. Good luck getting a sick day off without hearing some grief from anyone. 5-6 weeks needed to take any Vaca days. Alot of poop and pee (consider yourself a zookeeper on some days). No job advancement (unless you want to fork over serious money and takes ALOT of classes). Kids constantly come to school very sick.
