Pros

Upper management has a passion and a vision for Memorial being a great place for patients and employees. Memorial also has many excellent staff members, who are capable of great work.

Cons

At the middle and low level IS management, there exists a serious deadlock (especially in the IS department) for progress. Some staff are only there to gather a paycheck and are more than willing to do nothing. With projects frequently blocked, some staff literally have nothing to do for extended periods of time.

Very supportive work environment - truly was like having another family. Everyone was willing to help and offer support when it was needed.

Cons

Work environment was too small - no room for advancement and very cliquey. People tended to backstab sometimes, which doesn't make for a good work environment.

It is in a good location and employs a lot of people.

Cons

Poor business structure, focused on hiring executive and "enterprise" positions at increasibly high salaries while making cuts to front line staff. Focused more on money than patient care and frequently eliminating positions. They offer little job security and do not value long term or tenured staff.
