Happy Employees at One of the Best Cancer Centers in the World.

Pros

You feel good about helping cancer patients whether it is through direct care or if you are helping the institution on the back end. It is literally the best care, anywhere.

Cons

It is a large academic medical center that often takes a long time to mobilize any kind of change across the institution. In addition, management is constantly challenged with making these changes due to the hierarchy complexities working with doctors and managers.

Pros

There is an abundant amount of research being done all the time and the hospital attracts some of the best medical professionals in their field and many oppurtunities to move up in the company. There are a large variety of jobs, from HR to the medical side. There are also lots of locations all over the New York City area and Long Island.

Cons

management is not always helpful and sometimes there's a lack of appreciation

Pros

It is an incredible institution to work for - important mission and some of the most valuable work being done today. However, like with many organizations, if you don't work for the direct mission of the center, i.e., if you are not a doctor, nurse, or researcher, the amount of time and oversight spend watching over your position is minimal.

Cons

As the above, jobs other than doctors, nurses and researchers are not respected or watched over closely. The Center obviously could not function without those professions above, however, the importance of other departments is overlooked.
