Pros

Great product, loyal customers, friendly coworkers, employee discount, and reasonable store hours. Vacation and sick time is accrued and can be carried over from year to year

Cons

From corporate to regional to store management... leading by fear is the norm... being screamed at by management on the sales floor ... on a conference call ... in a meeting ... is the norm. Sexist ... homophobic is ingrained in the corporate culture,

Total dysfunctional work environment! It's a daycare center.

Pros

It was at one point (many years ago), a great place to work. I stayed employed here as long as I did in "hopes" that the environment/culture would change back to what it once was.......it will never happen unfortunately.

Cons

1. Absolutely no communication between Managers. No communication from Top down or bottom up. If the bottom made a suggestion or comment, it was looked upon as a complaint/negative! 2. Busy store with a complete dysfunctional work environment 3. No separation between Management and subordinates (everyone on the same level....best friends). 4. Bad behavior enabled everyday, because no one ever corrects or is afraid too. Favorite employees are cherry picked and have more play with Mgr's. Whats good for them is not good for you. 5. After Doug CEO adjusted his comp plan ($3.4 million p/y to 9.7 million p/y and this is in print available to anyone) and gave the board members their raise; we in the trenches got screwed. 6. Our employee comp plan was devalued to make up for their increase. 7. Staff has been significantly decreased (pay-outs) in areas that need it the most. 8. Now expected to do the work of 5 or 6 employees and have everything run as smooth as butter, but it's just the opposite! More mistakes happening, because you are always interrupted half way through something to do something else. 8. Absolutely terrible customer service, whether it's tailoring, missing suit pic ups, NTS (butchers) terrible, not enough staff to help customers (walk outs & derogatory comments made by customers who could not get help).....the list goes on and on. 9. Constant cell phone use on the floor! Mgr's talk big, but do absolutely nothing. Mgr's do not lead by example; they are some of the worst offenders! Unacceptable behavior! 10. Teamwork....what's that? 11. Having to work daily with the most negative person on the planet just makes for such a wonderful positive and up lifting work environment......not! Again, absolutely nothing said or done to improve or discipline individual! 12. Assistant Mgr's 2 who are afraid to do the right thing whether for a customer or employee...pathetic. 13. Lead by example for Mgr's, does not exist. Once promoted....hey, let's all stand behind the counter and tell the lone wardrobe or CSA to place all stock away, straighten the store, perform all closing tasks etc etc while 3 or 4 of them are behind the counter. 14. 5 to 10 suits pulled apart pants from coats and thrown all over the place and not placed back in the size taken from in respect to the next wardrobe and customer working in that size. You have $700.00 dollar suits just laying about pulled apart thrown on pant racks. I had to apologize many times to customers for this. Some still purchased, but some didn't after they saw how we treat beautiful merchandise. To place back what you have pulled out would take 1 minute tops respecting your so called teammates....not. Mentioned many times in meetings, but nothing ever changed! 15. No accountability..serial call outs weekly, no responsibility and no respect! Many more , but I think this is enough. Good luck to anyone pursuing a career here, it's obvious that some people thrive here!
