Pros

Benfeits are decent, P.T.O. and what not is actually pretty good plus paid holidays are nice, usually great staff and fun work environment

Cons

Upper management is a joke, everyone micro manages, promotions given to wrong people, other people don't get recognition deserved, the only way for a bad employee to get fired is just not coming to work

Pros

Holiday parties and some corporate contest that is about it. Oh sorry they fly you out to California ( only management ) for store meetings.

Cons

Unprofessional Regional management, Area VP and in store management, asking for help from them to solve in store problems is non existent nothing gets done they just look the other way with no follow up or anything presented to them all they are focused on is store numbers and inventory control. No enthusiasm from management period ! The store management and regional management are like working for a dictatorship. Selling floor is a shark pool everyone is constantly fighting over sales and pay isn't that great for the headache it causes. CSA's are treated horribly and never praised, these are the people besides the tailors who do most of the floor work. Tux rental portion of company is horrible no incentives for booking weddings, they should get some of incentive to deal with the rudeness of the bridezilla's you have to deal with or the groom who treats you like garbage and the sweat the so called "Operations manager" that lead the tux department of store put into the whole fiasco of renting tux's get nothing but a underpaid check every week not even a pat on the back is worth the management's time. Stores in these areas are unorganized and are terrible to the small guy underneath them ( again store management, regional management and area VP's the people who are above the small ) some stores are always understaffed having someone else ( CSA's, Operations manager's even tailors at points ) other then the management team stepping in to carry the work load, while management is in back of store staring at a computer screen for hours I also have watched a manager who is 6'4" 230 scan in store merchandise then make a CSA girl who is 5'6" 120 pounds carry boxes that exceed well over 40 pounds to the "stacking tables" and spill it all over this table to be put away by the same girl who just carried it about 20 feet from where the manger scanned it . Promotions are only given to the people who do not deserve them, the people who do deserve them are either demoted or shipped off to a store no where near where they live and have to take a pay cut this company moves people around inconveniently to accommodate what the company wants if you do not like it you can leave, this is what the Regional or VP of stores will tell an employee. I have worked for the company for a long time and the first half of the time was good I will be honest, the last half leading to me quitting is all in the Con part of this review when things went down hill ( I am sure this is going on in other parts of the country if the NY and NJ areas so called higher up's are anything like these tyrants that run NY and NJ areas ) and that George Zimmer is a "Guarantee". The old day's are gone the company is not what it used to be, friends , family and fun all that is gone with the wind, now all there is, is constant sales more work loads for the one man band ( Operations managers ) then there should be, constant fighting on sales floor just a cold place to work in. The good old days that you to be present in this company are far from gone.

Pros

They really make you feel like a valued member of the company. They have an open door policy and listen to your ideas.

Cons

You have to work a lot of 6 day work weeks through the year. Instead of hiring seasonal consultants during the holidays they have the existing employees work 6 days.
