Pros
Great incentives with yearly profit sharing increases; manager bonuses reflective of your duties and how well you've done to improve company standards; depending on location knowledgeable Dept. Managers; best part is they only require a 2 to 4 year degree in an HR field. A lot of great experience can be gained working retail HR as a generalist if you have a lot of patience.
Cons
The HR department at the General Office does not give good assistance and they do not have your back. Most times you are asking other store's HRs for guidance or collaboration. Many Store managers are ill trained or have little ability to lead or run a store. Key requirement in this position, document and report what anyone tells you when it conflicts with your job or doesn't sound acceptable, save important emails outside of the store email provider to refer back to when needed (you may find them deleted later)
